I keep getting an Over Quota! message in my email.

Note: Webmail issues that are customer specific are most likely related to firewall, browser or anti-virus application settings. You will need to adjust your settings to find out which one is causing the problem.

MHTC allows up to 50Mb of free storage space on its server. If you receive an Over Quota! message it is because you are exceeding this space. You will need to do one or more of the following:

  • Increase the server space of your mailbox to greater than 50Mb (each additional 50Mb costs $2.00/mo). Please contact MHTC if you would like to increase the mailbox size. You must be listed as an account owner in order to make this type of change.
  • Log into Webmail at www.mhtc.net and delete or download onto you computer any large attachments/files and then delete the original message(s) from Webmail. Note: Messages stored in each folder in Webmail (Inbox, Sent, Trash, etc.) count toward the 50Mb quota.
  • Use a third-party email application such as Outlook Express, Windows Mail, Thunderbird, etc. to download emails into so that they are stored locally on the computer and not on the server. If you already use a third-party email application you may need to adjust the setting for how long messages are stored on the server after being downloaded to your computer.
