Dial-up Setup MAC OS 9

Create a dial-up Internet connection:

Click on the Apple menu then Control Panels then Remote Access (Will be called PPP on older systems).

Name = Type your MHTC e-mail user name

Number = Type the access phone number provided by MHTC to connect to the Internet. A list of access numbers can be found here.

Note: If you need to dial a long distance number in order to access the Internet, please contact MHTC so that we can give you the correct number to dial into.

Tip: If you can’t make changes or the fields are greyed out, you may need to be in Administrator mode. Click Edit from the main toolbar, then User Mode, then select Administrator.

With the Remote Access window open, click Remote Access on the toolbar then on TCP/IP.

Note: For PPP, click on the PPP menu and not Remote Access.

Ensure the following are selected:

Connect via = PPP
Configure = Using PPP Server

Close the TCP/IP window to complete the configuration.

Click Connect on the Remote Access window.
