Thunderbird 3.1.2 for Windows

Key Mail Server Settings:
Server Type = POP
Incoming Mail Server=
Outgoing Mail Server=

On the Toolbar click Tools and select Account Settings from the menu.


 Click Add Mail Account under Account Actions.


Your Name = Type your name (as you want it to appear when you send an e-mail).
Email Address = Type your MHTC e-mail address.
Password = Type your MHTC e-mail password.
Remember Password should be selected unless you want to enter it each time for security reasons.
Click Continue.

Thunderbird will attempt to automatically configure your email server settings. If you would like to cancel this process and enter the information manually, click on the Stop button and then on Manual Setup (will be activated when stop is clicked). Also choose Manual Setup if auto configuration fails.

The following information should be displayed after auto-configuration completes. If your settings are different click on Edit and make the appropriate changes:

Incoming =
Server Type = POP (not IMAP)
Incoming Mail Server Port = 110 (Not 143 or other)
Outgoing =
Server Type = SMTP
Outgoing Mail Server Port = 587 or 25

Click Create Account.

If you receive the following warning, check the box for I understand the risks and click on Create Account.

If you continue getting the Warning! page, click on Manual Setup and work your way back to the Account Settings screen. Click on Server Settings and Outgoing Server (SMTP) for your email account to verify your settings and to make any additional changes.

Click OK to return to the Inbox.
