Key Mail Server Settings:

Server Type = POP3
Incoming Mail Server = mail.mhtc.net
Outgoing Mail Server = smtp.mhtc.net

Microsoft Outlook 2010 Startup Wizard

Click Next.

Select Yes to set up an e-mail account and click Next.

Choose Internet E-mail to set up your POP account and click Next.

You have the option to choose to have Outlook automatically determine your server settings or manually configure the server settings.

 

Choose E-mail Account to have Outlook automatically configure the server settings and enter the following information.

Your Name = Enter your name as you want it to appear on outgoing messages.
E-mail Address = Enter your e-mail address.
Password and Retype Password = Enter your MHTC e-mail password.

Click Next.

Outlook will now try to determine your server settings.

Outlook will display the following window since you are not setting the account up with an encrypted connection. Click Next to have Outlook look for an unencrypted connection.

If Outlook can’t configure the server settings on its own choose Manually configure server settings and click Next.

The User Information fields will already be filled in. Enter the server and logon information. 

Server Information:
Incoming Mail Server = mail.mhtc.net
Outgoing Mail Server = smtp.mhtc.net

Logon Information:
User Name
= Enter your e-mail username if it’s not already filled in (everything before the @).
Password = Enter the password to the e-mail account.

Note: Passwords are case-sensitive. Ensure your Caps Lock is disabled.

Check the Remember password box and click Next.

Click Finish.

Microsoft may display the following window. Choose the option you prefer and then click OK.

To add or create a new account when you don’t see the Setup Wizard click on File on the menu.

 

Add an Account:
Click Add Account under the Info option.
Follow the steps listed above.


Change an Account:
Click on Account Settings under the Info option.

Highlight the account you want to change and then click on Change
Edit the account information as needed. Refer to the settings listed above.

Note: Click the Advanced tab under More Settings if you need to set up your email to leave a copy of messages on the server. This is important if you check your email on multiple devices such as a cell phone, work and home computer, iPad, etc. You must also specifiy a number of days to leave messages on the server or you may get an Over Quota! message from MHTC.
