Dial-up Setup Windows Vista

Create an Internet Connection:

Click the Start button and select Control Panel from the menu.

Windows Vista gives you the option to view the Control Panel in two different views: Category View and Classic View. Use the link on the left side of the page to switch between classic and category view.

Category View
Click on Network and Internet then on Network and Sharing Center.

Classic View
Click on Network and Sharing Center.

Click on the Set up a connection or network link on the left side of the page.

Select Set up a dial-up connection.
Click Next.

Dial-up phone number = Enter the access number you use to connect to the Internet. A list of access numbers can be found here.

Note: If you need to dial a long distance number in order to access the Internet, please contact MHTC so that we can provide you with the correct number to dial into.

User name = Type your MHTC account user name (everything before the @).
Password = Type your MHTC account password.
Remember this password should be selected unless you want to enter it each time for security reasons.
Connection name = Type MHTC.
Select Allow other people to use this connection, especially if you have multiple accounts set up on this computer.
Click Connect or Create.

The connection will now try to connect to the Internet. If the connection fails or gives you the option to skip, you will still need to set up the connection anyway, otherwise, if you cancel this step you will have to go through all the steps again to create the account.

Click Close on the next screen.
